Torpedo cars
Like the ladle, the torpedo car is used to transport hot metal from blast furnace to steel mill, and is exposed to high temperatures.
Torpedoes today are much more than simple transport. They are often used as part of the de-sulfurisation process, and the reagent injection exposes their refractory linings to high metal and slag turbulence and chemical attack.
